This is a full home renovation and two story addition in the Playter Estates neighbourhood of Toronto. This vibrant, fun family of 5 wanted to breathe new life into their home that was dark, closed in and did not function well. They dreamed of a colourful, light filled home with smart storage for all their needs that centred around their love of cooking. Working closely with the amazing architecture and contracting team, we created a new home that is both fun and magical as well as smart and functional. 

 

Our approach to design for the home was to utilize bold blocks of colour and tempering the colour pops with lots of bright white to really emphasize the home’s new incredible natural light that floods the back of the house. The design was thoughtful in considering family and pet friendly materials and furnishings, storage solutions and considering the needs of this growing family. 

 

We updated the original front staircase with an ombre paint treatment that sets the tone for the home the minute you walk in. We created truly custom-tailored spaces with lots of colourful millwork, brilliantly coloured tiles and fixtures throughout as well as custom designed lighting. A dreamy family play space in the basement includes a secret hiding space under the stairs.

 

This project really personifies the clients and has a happy, joyful feel. You can’t help but smile.
